One afternoon a friend of mine was napping on the couch. He had served in the Marines during the war on Iraq, and had recently returned. I was in the kitchen cleaning when I suddenly heard strange noises coming from the living room. I looked over to see my friend tossing and turning on the couch, punching pillows, punching the back of the couch, and uttering strange, angry noises. I ran over to him and violently shook him, trying to get him to wake up. When he finally snapped out of it, he looked at me in an angry defensive manner, but backed down as soon as he realized who I was. I asked him if he was okay, and all he could utter was, “night terrors.” I suggested he talk to me about it and I soon learned things I thought only existed in movies. The trauma he must have experienced as a result was severe. I had to know more. |

Wow! It has been a whirlwind! I just finished some appearances at Springtime Tallahassee, and had an opportunity to throw a surprise party for my sunshine princesses! This Thursday I will speak to the LEADS group in Tallahassee, FL on how and why we should support our troops and how the Miss America Organization has benefited me. Then, it's off to more meetings at the NAS Base in Jacksonville, and more USO appearances. I know I sound busy, but I would love to be booked so please feel free to contact me! This is my passion and my life to I expect no compensation for my services. Any and all monies will be donated to RSFOT in support of our troops!
